How long are sessions?

Sessions last about 1 hour. They typically consist of a short warm-up, a full-body circuit with weights and cardio, and some stretching/flexibility training at the end.

Do I need any equipment of my own?

Not at all! One of our mottos at Fitness Friend is that we bring the gym to you, so you don’t need to own anything. We have all sorts of equipment that we bring to give you a great workout, including: dumbbells, bands, TRX, medicine balls, stability balls, kettlebells, and exercise steps. When we show up we quickly transform your space into your own private workout studio, and you don’t even have to help us carry anything!

What kind of space do I need for the workout?

You’d be surprised how little space is actually needed for an in-home workout. A small bedroom, living room, unfinished basement, or even a hallway can work. We are experts and transforming your space into a gym, so you don’t need anything special. If you have a finished basement with an in-home gym that’s great, but it’s not necessary. We enjoy the challenge of using whatever space you have to get the job done.

Do I already have to be in shape to start a training program?

No prior exercise experience or base of strength, endurance, and flexibility is necessary. In fact, many of our clients hire us because they haven’t worked out in years. We thrive on training people of all ages and ability levels, and progress you at the appropriate pace and intensity to get you the results you’re looking for. We really enjoy working with people who have never worked out or who have fallen out of their routine, since those are the people who often benefit most. If you consider yourself already in great shape, on the other hand, then we can also help you take it to the next level by introducing new exercises, pushing you to your limits, and increasing your weights, reps, and intensity.

What age range do you train?

We train people of all ages and ability levels. We have clients who are in junior high and at nursing homes, and everything in-between. We pride ourselves on having the ability to program for anyone’s unique situation, no matter how old they are or what limitations they may have. We enjoy working with a wide variety of clients, and we get you the results you are looking for no matter what.
